From June 10 to 13, 2024, Thiot Ingénierie had the honor of hosting the 17th edition of the LWAG (Light Weight Armor for Defense and Security) conference in the exceptional setting of Rocamadour. This flagship event brings together key players – industry professionals, academics, and research institutes – dedicated to the development of lightweight armor for defense and security applications.
Over the course of three days, 75 French and international engineers and researchers gathered to present and discuss their work on lightweight armor. Topics covered included the development of innovative solutions for shock mitigation and protection against ballistic impacts or explosions in various contexts: soldier protection, land vehicles, aircraft, and naval platforms.
The afternoon of the second day was dedicated to a visit to the Thiot Ingénierie laboratory. Participants had the opportunity to discover our facilities and equipment dedicated to shock physics testing, showcasing our expertise in the dynamic behavior of materials.
The event also provided a chance to explore the gastronomy and heritage of the Lot region, with a tasting of Cahors wines, a guided tour of the medieval city of Rocamadour, and a visit to the Lacave caves.
