Friday, December 20, 2024EURENCO Group, the European leader in energetic materials for defense and security, today announces the acquisition of THIOT INGENIERIE, a French company specializing in impact technologies, ballistic testing, and materials engineering.

This acquisition aligns with EURENCO’s strategy to expand its portfolio of activities in ballistic engineering and to diversify its innovation capabilities in cutting-edge technologies for defense, aerospace, and security. It enables EURENCO to strengthen its expertise in impact dynamics with unique capabilities in hypervelocity impact testing and material behavior simulation under extreme constraints.

Thiot Ingénierie rejoint le groupe Eurenco

Our company, THIOT INGENIERIE, specializes in shock physics and rapid dynamics, and is based in Puybrun in the Lot region, near Brive-la-Gaillarde. Our activities are divided into three main areas:

  • Providing test benches for high-speed impact testing and dynamic material characterization, including detonation chambers and laboratory gas guns.
  • Offering expertise in the shock behavior of materials and structures, whether inert or reactive, encompassing impact tests, characterization tests, and associated numerical simulations.
  • Supplying special autofrettage machines for artillery and gun barrels, with a reputation as a specialist in a niche technological market.

“We are delighted to welcome THIOT INGENIERIE to the EURENCO Group. This strategic acquisition reflects our commitment to innovation and to enhancing our expertise in critical technologies for our clients, while strengthening our position as a leader in energetic materials for defense.”

Thierry FRANCOU, Chairman and CEO of the EURENCO Group

“The transfer of our company to the EURENCO Group is justified by the technological and organizational synergies that have already been identified between the two companies. We are proud to join the EURENCO Group, which will ensure the long-term sustainability of THIOT INGENIERIE through sustained research activities in pyrotechnics, and more broadly across all its areas of expertise related to shock physics.”
